Learnlight Partners with Team Kenya to Empower Girls Through Education
- News
London, 17 December 2018: Each year we support a charity that represents our dedication to raising education levels and developing the life skills of people around the world.
This year we have chosen to support Team Kenya.
We have created a video that explains more about this very worthy charity and the impact that Team Kenya is having on tackling the barriers that prevent girls from accessing quality education. Team Kenya work with local people to educate girls, empower women and transform communities in rural Kenya where many girls are forced to drop out of school and into early marriage.
Benjamin Joseph, CEO of Learnlight explains:
“Girls in Ndhiwa, a settlement in Kenya’s Nyanza Province, have fewer educational opportunities due to deeply entrenched traditional attitudes towards women leading to widespread abuse of their rights. Helping girls to gain access to and attain a good quality education equips them with the skills and knowledge to fully participate in economic, social and cultural life. This has a profound and long-lasting impact not only on the girls but also on the community as a whole.”
On behalf of our clients, we are delighted to support Team Kenya and the worthy work they do in the Ndhiwa community.
Thank you to all our clients for their continued support and to our media partner, Cañaveral, for their kind help in creating this video.
